Founding Members
Meet the founding members. Individually proactive leaders in their fields with the drive and passion to promote the world of professionally installed technology.
Stuart Burgess - Immersive cinema rooms
In 2007, Stuart founded Immersive Cinema Rooms, driven by his passion for technology. Originally, the company secured a contract with the Southern Sony Centres to mount their TVs on walls. Over time, customer demand shifted towards more advanced technology and intricate installations. As a result, the company has thrived and now focuses on designing top-tier Cinema Rooms for sophisticated clients.
Stuart is passionate about spearheading the HCA's outreach efforts and shaping and promoting the industry to potential clients. "After nearly 20 years in this industry, it still amazes me how many people are not aware that there are professional companies out there who can create the perfect fun family space.”
Owen maddock - cinemaworks
Owen Maddock, principal of Cinemaworks, set up his integration business in 2014 after 20 years’ experience in other roles within the industry. Cinemaworks was established as Owen wanted to bring brilliant design, technical expertise and customer care to the South West of England and South Wales. With his clients wanting a full service, Owen developed an offering that includes data networking, Wi-Fi, control programming, design, technical drawing and a strong understanding of modern housebuilding. In 2019, Owen took steps to ensure CinemaWorks was the first company in the world to achieve ‘CEDIA Member of Excellence’, reflecting award-winning craftsmanship, commitment to professional education and excellent customer service. He holds CEDIA’s ESC-T, ESC-D, and ESC-N certifications. Owen is a committed industry volunteer with a focus on industry outreach. He recently wrote the acclaimed CPD course ‘Designing Home Cinema and Media Rooms’ for industry association, CEDIA, and is a member of the WG10 working group developing engineering standards for home cinema.
